Children`s Programs
All Youth programs are on hiatus as of August 15, 2011 while we search for a new Youth Services Librarian.
From September to May, there is a Family Storytime on Thursdays at 9:45 a.m. for ages 18 months to 6 years and their caregivers. During our 6 week Summer Reading Program a family storytime will be held on Thursdays from 9:45-10:15 a.m. A variety of professional and professional performers provide storytelling, magic, live animals, clowning, science fun and a variety of other programs each Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Gordon Barbour Elementary School. New summer teen programs are offered every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. (Crafts) and 2:45 p.m. (movies) or garme day (1:00-4:00 p.m.). All programs are free and open to area children and their caregivers.

Staff
Gordonsville Branch is staffed by 4 staff members, three part-time and one full-time. The Branch Librarian reports to the Library Director, Katie Hill. The staff are assisted by Volunteers and Members of the Gordonsville Friends of the Library.
Library Support Groups
The Library is assisted in its mission by support groups who provide funds for books, videos, audios and other materials as well as furnishings and other projects. The Gordonsville Friends of the Library are headed by President, Christine Kastan. The Gordonsville Friends have provided the branch with several hundred dollars worth of aid in the past year and have raised about $65,000 towards our new building. For 2011-12 the Gordonsville Friends are working on fundraising for landscaping. In addition, the Orange County Library Foundation, which supports all 3 Orange County Public Library locations, provides support annually for the Gordonsville Branch. Membership forms for both groups are available at the branch.
Meeting Room
The Gordonsville Branch provides a meeting room available to the public at no charge for certain types of use. The room accomodates 36 with tables and chairs in use. Please see our Meeting Room Policy for more information.
