Teen Reading Program Rules

1) Sign-up for the Summer Reading Program begins June 6th. The last day to sign up for the Summer Reading Program is August 6th.

2) You may begin turning in tickets June 13th. The last day to turn in tickets is August 13th.

3) The Program is open to all teens from rising 6^th graders to rising 12^th graders.

4) All events are free and open to area teens and their caregivers.

5) Teens may count time spent being read to by parents or siblings – reading is a great family activity. If one teen reads to a child in the children’s program they may both count this time. Listening to audiobooks may also be counted.

6) Participants receive all of their tickets at sign-up, no additional tickets will be given.
Please DO NOT LOSE your tickets. Write YOUR NAME on your tickets.

7) One ticket may be redeemed for every 1 hour spent reading/being read to, up through 30 hours. Participants have a choice of how to use their tickets - each ticket can be used for a grand prize drawing entry, or multiple tickets can be redeemed for books, food coupons and other prizes.

8) Participants may not combine their tickets  with another participants’ or use anyone else’s tickets.

9) The Library will endeavor to offer a selection of prizes of each type: Grand Prize Drawings, food coupons, or books. Please keep in mind that most prizes are donated by area merchants. They may vary by location, their availability is limited, and they will not be announced until the program begins.

10) All tickets redeemed for use as Grand Prize Drawing entries MUST BE STAMPED BY LIBRARY STAFF. Unstamped tickets will be discarded if selected in the drawing. We are required to maintain a count of all prizes given and this also helps us to achieve better funding and sponsorship for future programs.

11) We request that participants redeem a maximum of SIX tickets per week.

12) Tickets must be redeemed at the library where you register. You may register only once.

13) The Grand Prize Drawing winners will be contacted on Tuesday, August 16th. A participant may win only ONE Grand Prize.

14) Programs may be subject to change.
