Teen Crafts:

There will be a weekly craft for teens. There will be an hour for them to make the items and chat. All materials will usually be provided, with anything the teens need to bring noted. For rising 6th graders to rising 12th.

Note: Due to space and supply limits, only 20 teens will be able to attend each program. The first 20 to enter the room will admitted. Disorderly conduct during the entering will disqualify from participation.

 

Teen Movies:

 

A series of movies for teens. All rated PG or PG-13. Snacks provided. For rising 6th graders to rising 12th. Click the link for running times and full summaries.

 

Teen Game Afternoons: Board games and card games. Rock Band, Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, and Wii. Old games and new. We’ve got all sorts of wonderful games waiting for you. Come play a favorite or try out a new one. Snacks provided. For rising 6th graders to rising 12th.

June 20/23/24:

1:00 Teen Craft: Kokeshi Dolls: The inspirations behind the design of Miis, these little guys are based on handpainted wooden dolls originating from Northern Japan.  Make your own pocket-sized zombie, ninja, favorite character, or traditional kimono-wearing doll. We provide all the supplies & instructions.

2:45 Teen Movie: Red Riding Hood: Valerie is a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter, but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry. Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie's older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast but the arrival of famed werewolf hunter Solomon's brings unintended consequences. (Rated PG-13 for violence, creature terror, & some sensuality)

1:00 Teen Craft: Tie Dye Journals: Make your own sixties-inspired journals.  These blank books are perfect for your art & writing.  Use them to get a start on your future bestseller. We provide all the supplies & instructions.

1:00 Teen Craft: Thai String Dolls: Inspired by the little handmade dolls from Thailand’s cottage industry, you’ll find these for sale all over, and now you can make your own.  They are usable as keychains, cell phone charms, & bag decorations, & can be created in endless variations.  We provide all the supplies & instructions.

2:45 Teen Movie: Rango:  This animated comedy-adventure stars Rango, a sheltered chameleon who accidentally winds up in the gritty, gun-slinging town of Dirt. Welcomed as the last hope the town has been waiting for, new Sheriff Rango is forced to play his new role, in a blaze of action-packed situations & encounters with outrageous characters.  (Rated PG for rude humor, language, action, & smoking)
