Toddler Time and Preschool Storytime
Programs for 18 month - 6 year olds
TODDLER TIME: A 20-minute program that combines short stories, action rhymes, flannel boards, songs, and dancing to help introduce toddlers to the fun of language, reading and the library. For ages 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers.
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME: A 45-minute program of stories, songs, fingerplays and a craft project. Library storytime is a fun way to learn about new books and songs and develop important preschool literacy and listening skills. For ages 3-6 and their caregivers.
FAMILY STORYTIME: Gordonsville only. A 30-minute program of stories, songs, fingerplays, and a craft project. For ages 18 months-6 years and their caregivers.
Wilderness Toddler Times will be Tuesdays at 10:15.
Wilderness Preschool Storytimes will be Tuesdays at 11:00.
Orange Toddler Time will be Wednesdays at 9:45.
Orange Preschool Storytimes will be Wednesdays at 10:30.
Gordonsville Family Storytimes will be Thursdays at 9:45.
June 21/22/23: The summer starts off with a splash this week with an Under the Sea Storytime, which will include stories, songs and rhymes about whales, fish, turtles and other sea creatures. Preschoolers will make a fish-y seascape.
June 28/29/30: It is a beautiful day for a picnic. Come listen to stories about delicious picnics and uninvited guests. Preschoolers will decide what type of food they’d take on a picnic.
No programs the week of July 4th
July 12/13/14: This week it’s sea, sand, and surf at the library, as storytime goes to the beach. Preschoolers will make a beach scene.
July 19/20/21: Fly by night with this week’s storytime, all about who is awake at night. Come hear about owls, bats, raccoons, and more. Preschoolers will make a bat friend.
July 26/27/28: We’re going buggy this week. Come hear stories about creepy crawly bugs and spiders and wiggly worms. Preschoolers will make a bug jar.
