Orange County Public Library joins OverDrive

New hours begin July 1, 2010
The Main Library will open at 1:00 p.m. every Tuesday starting July 1, 2010.
The Main Library will be open again every Friday starting July 1, 2010.
Main Library: Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Tuesdays 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m., Saturdays 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
The Wilderness Branch will open at 12:30 p.m. every Wednesday starting July 1, 2010.
The Wilderness Branch will restore all Monday openings to 9:30 a.m. and restore all Thursday hours starting July 1, 2010.
Wilderness Branch: Mondays and Tuesdays 10:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays 12:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Gordonsville Branch: Mondays - closed, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
The Library says goodbye to Youth Services Librarian, Kristin Hamon
Due to budget cuts for FY2010, Kristin's position was eliminated. We were happy that she found a new position in Durham, N.C. and left to begin work there in May 2010. We now have one Youth Services Librarian, Gillian Dawson, to provide all materials selection, programs and services to patrons ages birth to 18 at all three locations.
New Fine Rates begin May 1, 2010
Adult materials such as books, magazines and audiobooks will be charged 20 cents per day late fine with a maximum of $5.00 per item during the first year.
Juvenile materials such as books, magazines and audiobooks will be charged 10 cents per day late fine with a maximum of $2.00 per item during the first year.
All VHS and DVD will will be charged 50 cents per day late fine with a maximum of $5.00 per item during the first year.
Fine Free Friday ends April 30, 2010
The last Fine Free Friday will be April 30, 2010. In these tough ecoonmic times, we are unable to continue this program. We are joining the other 80+ public libraries in Virginia that do not offer such a program.
