About the Author

Doris N. Johnson was born on May 22, 1948 in Louisa, Virginia, a small county in central Virginia.  She’s the third of six siblings.  Her father was a tractor-trailer driver; and her mother was a housewife.

Doris retired from the Federal Government with 23 years of service in the Department of Commerce. She started out as a Clerk Typist, then progressed to a Statistical Assistant. While working, she attended college at night. After graduation, Doris was elevated to a professional field in economics for the Bureau of Economic Analysis within the Department of Commerce. She held that position until her retirement.

Doris is married to Brian Johnson.  Together, they have three children: Wendy (Burton) Pittman, Charles Burton, and Brian (Anthony) Johnson Jr., eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

When she’s not writing, Doris enjoys working in her flower garden, visiting friends, going to cookouts, gospel events, and southern soul concerts with her wonderful husband. She also enjoys spending time hosting family gatherings at her home and planning family outings.
