2021 Summer Reading Program

The Orange County Library is proud to present the 2021 Summer Reading Program “Tails & Tales!” for kids ages 18 months to rising 12th graders, May 31st to July 31st, 2021.

Participation is easy!  Visit your local library branch and choose the program for your age.  Complete the registration form and pick up your prize and first weekly activity log. Log the minutes you read & activities done for the week on your weekly log.  Return to the library each week for a new activity log and to turn in your finished log for a prize of your choice and to be entered in the grand prize drawing for one of the Amazon gift cards awarded at the end of the program. The last day to turn in activity logs is August 7th, 2021.

Fun activities are always a big part of the Summer Reading Program.  Beginning on May 31st, the library will be offering a limited number of weekly activity packs for kids to pick up and make at home.  Activity packs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and feature a different activity or craft each week.  For teens, beginning June 7th there will a limited number of craft bags to make at home.  Teen craft bags are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and feature a different craft bi-weekly.

Library-sponsored professional performers will be presented virtually this summer via a link posted on the library website.  Entertainers include Daniel Lusk Magician, Science Tellers, Traveling Lantern Theatre Company, and the Center for Aquatic Sciences!  For dates, visit the “2021 Virtual Performances” page on our website or the library event calendar!
